When we set on the journey of taking soil health, and herd health to optimum levels, the lack of soil minerals was high on the list. So high in fact, this project has been in the works for 2 years. We wanted to move away from single-point mineral sites, and move towards a healthier soil. One major difference between Midwest soils, where whitetail giants roam, and poorer soils further east; is the mineral content of the soil. Soil minerals have been steadily decreasing yearly, mainly due to runoff and conventional farming practices. Some scientists believe soil minerals are 300% lower than they were just 70 years ago.
With the problem identified we got to work creating a product that would re-mineralize soil, make plots more attractive to deer, improve antler growth rates, and provide these minerals directly through whatever food source is growing in treated areas.
